Rick Arlow
Rick has an undergraduate Bioengineering degree from Lehigh University, and is currently attending Case Western Reserve University for a dual MD/PhD program in Biomedical engineering. Rick has a strong background in biomedical engineering, three-dimensional modeling (CAD/CAM), product development, emergency medical care, business development, and airway management. For the last three years Rick has gained experience as a certified emergency medical technician and has learned the special constraints and criteria for these medical providers. As an undergrad at Lehigh, Zach Bloom and Rick carried out a survey of emergency medicine physicians, trauma physicians, and paramedics to identify problematic areas in these fields of care. Afterwards, they developed and patented a solution to the current complicated and insufficient tracheotomy devices through inter-disciplinary collaboration with physicians, first responders, and a snakebite expert. Rick is a young, high-potential medical researcher that has developed a solution of high relevance for battlefield, Pre-Hospital, and In-Hospital airway management. His expertise and experience have prepared him to commercialize his tracheotomy devices, save many lives, and continue innovating in the medical field.
